Benjamin (Mike) did not throw up at all yesterday - the first time in 12 days.  They have given him IVs at the hospital through the night and he is now interacting with people for the first time in over a week.  These are all encouraging signs.  Our next step is to see if he can keep some solid food down.  If all goes well he might return home as soon as this evening. We are thinking that he might have become as bad as he was because the throwing up had become a cycle that repeated itself and made itself worse with each day.  When his body was given a chance to rest and heal by the IVs and the hospital visit, it may have been all that was needed to stop the cycle. The ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) people want to test his inner ears on either Monday or Tuesday - they think that may be the source of the problem.  If the inner ear was damaged by the ear infection, that could cause symptoms like we are seeing and it can be fixed in most cases by special exercises. We truly appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers for our son. Thanks,Charlie & Kristina Wetmore
