Praise from John Howe in Iraq

Dear friends:
We had our first chapel services in Iraq this morning and I wanted to share with you how things went. I was privileged to preach three services (10:00am, 2:00pm and 8:00pm), with a combined attendance of 22 people for the three services. It truly was the “United Nations”, as we had 9 US service personnel, 2 US civilian contractors, 7 Ugandans, 3 Nepalese, and 1 gentleman from India. I preached on the subject of “The Truth About Jesus.” Eight of those in attendance (4 US military, 4 Ugandan) made decisions for Jesus in the 10:00am service’s invitation. One of the decisions came from my very own Commanding Officer. He was one of three medical doctors who came this morning. It was truly amazing.
One of the Ugandan’s is a national pastor there who has planted a church of about 75 in his home country. He came here under a government contract to provide security for the camp. He was so excited to come to the service tonight! He has had no formal education and took extensive notes in the service. (Following Pastor Broggi’s example, I made sure that the worship bulletin had a note taking outline on the back!!) He has asked me to provide individual tutoring for himself that he in turn can take back to his people in Uganda when he goes home in the Spring. What a priviledge! I am still amazed at the open door that God has provided. Our next service is a Bible Study on Wednesday. Please pray for me for continued wisdom and guidance.
Yours in Christ,

Prayer for Sonja and family
Filed under: Financial Need, Family Issues — John W @ 3:21 pm

I would like to ask for prayer for our family. We are having to move to VA and are in need of finding jobs and a home. We currently have our home for sale and are needing to sell it as soon as possible in order to get a place in VA. Please also pray for good doctors for my husband Wayne.

Also, I would appreciate every praying for my sister’s family and ours, for peace, unity, as we are all living together at the time. I know that Satan loves to cause problems. I really want our family to show the love of Christ to my family. Thanks so much everyone. God bless.

Sonja
