Prayer update for Steven Jerrit Couch
Filed under: Strength, Ministry, Protection, Healing — Sandra Voegeli @ 6:54 pm

‘This is an update on my stepson, Steven Jerrit Couch.  He has went through rehab recovery and has accepted Christ.  He went before the church several weeks ago and was baptized.  His walk is still shaky so he could use some strong fellowship but he has a few people to help him to stay on the right track.  His two children are still in foster care and DSS was considering returning the children to their mother who has substituted her crack addiction for alcoholism.  She hasn’t paid any money toward child support, is failing drug tests and missing meetings.  Through the generosity of a family at CBC who purchased a car that Jerrit was working on, his child support was paid up to date despite his voluntary incarceration and inability to work.  Jerrit simply had to take this time for himself so that he could be the right kind of father for his kids.  At today’s meeting with DSS, Jerrit was told that HE would be getting his kids back at the next hearing since he is doing all of the right things.  He has secured employment through his own enterprise and will be in his new rented home at the beginning of the month.  Jerrit hasn’t failed any drug tests nor has he missed any meetings.  He wants to go to parenting classes but he is not able to due to his obligations through the Drug Court but he was told today that he could get private counseling through a pastor at the church and this would be acceptable instead.  God is good!  He has been at work in this situation from the beginning and it was up to the rest of us to JUST STAY OUT OF IT so that God could do what was needed.  Thank you to all of you who have kept our family in your prayers…especially for these little kids so that they can at last get out of foster care and go home to a sober environment.  Please also keep the mother of these children in prayer as she will likely be arrested for her failure to pay child support.  Through her incarceration, she can at last get the long term live-in rehabilitation that she has refused so many times in the past.  She will always be the mother of these little ones and we want her to find healing, protection, and guidance in Christ also.  Tyna

Prayer update for Tricia Goodwin
Filed under: Praise — Sandra Voegeli @ 9:32 pm

‘Answered Prayer.
Thank you for Praying for Tricia Goodwin.  She is coming home from the hospital today with her baby.   Her mom will be sticking around a few weeks to help her becuase she can’t lift more than 10 pounds and is taking medicines for her pain.  We think her problems were from leaking spinal fluid and three blood patches were given.  The last one seemed to help as her headache has lessened so they could stop giving morphine.  Praise God for healing her.  Also Baby Gabriella is fine.

Please pray for healing.  Patricia “Tricia” Goodwin is in hospital in Amarillo Texas.  On Morphine for bad headaches after having a baby.  They first thought it was from fluid leaking out of her spine but 2 blood patches did not cure it.  Blood tests came back normal.  MRI results pending.  She and her husband Tony are saved they have 2 girls, Natalie 20 months and Gabriella still in hospital until mom can be discharged.  Tricia’s mother (also saved) is staying with them for a week.

Prayer for Sven
Filed under: Ministry, Protection — Sandra Voegeli @ 7:29 am

My husband (Sven) and I used to go to CBC from 2003 to 2006 until we were transfered by the Navy to Guam. We were very torn by this move. Beaufort is where we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, with the help of Dan and Cheryl Duffy.
My husband Sven, has just left for an 8 month deployment to Kuwait. This will be the longest he has ever been gone from us. I am asking if you will please pray for his safety and that God will keep his spirits lifted. I also ask that you pray for God to put a Godly man in his presence over there. Sven is the only Christian in his squadron, that is very hard for him at times. The devil really tries to use that to bring him down. Thank you all for all that you do for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will post his address over there incase anyone would like to send a care package, they are always welcome! Prayer for Gary Bennet
Filed under: Comfort, Healing — Sandra Voegeli @ 7:24 am

‘Hello from Iraq!  I am writing with an urgent prayer request for a young man in the USA.  His name is Gary Bennet, a 24 year old North Carolina man.  He and his young son were in an accident yesterday when they were hit by a drunk driver.  Gary is in critical condition and was in surgery much of today.  His little boy sustained injuries also, but is in stable condition.  I do not know Gary’s spiritual situation, so he may need to be saved.  Please pray for God’s mercy for this family.  Gary’s wife was killed a few years ago because of a drunk driver.  What a tragedy for this little boy to lose both of his parents in such a horrible way!  I hope that you will pray for them and ask God for is wonderful grace in this difficult situation.  John Howe

prayer update for Linds Worth
Filed under: Bereavement — Sandra Voegeli @ 9:31 pm

Dear sweet brothers and sisters in Christ,   My mother Linda Worth went to be with her Lord Thursday morning. I want to thank so many of you that had an influence in her life. At the time of my father’s death five years ago she was not saved and in fact shied away from the things of God. But since then many of you have taken the time to call, visit, witness and pray with and for her. You all were God’s instruments in my mother’s transformation. And I can say with confidence today that she is at Jesus’s feet as a result of your light in her life.     Please pray for the unchurched family and friends that will be attending her memorial service on Sunday. John Krieger, a friend of my mother’s, will be officiating. Please lift Pastor John up as he presents the plan of salvation in his message. Pray for the lost that their hearts would soften, as my mother’s heart was, and that they would come into a relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.   You are all invited to join us in the celebration of Linda’s life!!   Sunday, January 6th - Chapel at Anderson Funeral Home 3:00 viewing for close friends and family 4:00 memorial service, closed casket 5:15 reception at Jim and Lisa Kindwall’s home   Monday, January 7th - National Cemetery 1:00 burial - close friends     Lifting Him Up,   Lisa Kindwall
