Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ:Greetings in the name of the risen King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ! I pray that this e-mail finds each of you well and rejoicing both in body, soul and spirit. I am writing in order to give you the latest update of what is happening here in Iraq.
The Lord continues to be gracious in giving me many opportunities to share the word of God, either by giving the gospel to unbelievers or by expounding His truths to those who already know Him but seek to learn more about Him. I ask special prayer for my leading petty officer, Patrick Bunker, who although a skeptic of sorts, seems respectful of my testimony and beliefs. He has been asking many questions.
The primary emphasis, however, continues to be with the Ugandans, two of which are proving to be the most faithful to participate. I am speaking of Peterson, the national pastor that I mentioned previously, and his friend William. Each of these men meet with me at 8:00 p.m. every night to study the word of God. I wish that I could describe the joyful expressions on their faces with each new truth that they learn! These men are such humble, sincere servants of the Lord Jesus. I am so grateful to God for giving me a chance to play a part, both in their spiritual growth, as well as that of their fellow countrymen when they go home in January. In addition to these two men, we have had some US military personnel participate in the studies as well, but none of them have been as consistent to come as Peterson and William, so far.
