Prayer update for Melody’s grandfather
Filed under: Praise — Sandra Voegeli @ 8:57 pm

‘My Grandaddy passed away early Friday morning.  Thank you all for your prayers.  My Uncle was reading scripture to him, and my Grandaddy replied, “Blessed be the name of the Lord.”   In his condition, my Uncle stated that The Spirit had to be bearing witness with his in order for him to say that.  I am still holding on to hope that he is with the Lord.  Satan still wants to attack me with thoughts of him not being with the Him.  But my hope is in The Lord and I know that He is perfect and just in all things.

In Christ, Melody Clendenen’

Prayer Group Meets BEFORE Sunday Services
Filed under: Strength, Protection, Praise — John W @ 8:23 pm
Dear friends at CBC,
Several of us have been meeting for prayer before Sunday Servcies the past month, we invite you to prayerfully consider becoming part of this prayer group.
Below is a brief announcement of this, followed by a sample format we use. Some have to leave early for their Greeting responsibilities and choir participation.

Pray-ers meet for ½ hr of prayer 8:30-9:00 in classroom 202, each Sunday. The prayers are Kingdom focused, for our pastors, elders, deacons, other staff teachers, members, newcomers, missions and missionaries. You are invited to join us. Below is a typical outline/format:

Sunday Morning Pray-ers @ CBC May 18, 2008

Kingdom focused prayers – CBC (8:30-9:00) Room 202

(Process)– In groups of NO MORE than 8 people, pray thru Scripture. In the process of praying this passage, may this be a time of confession, adoration, thanksgiving, intercession and some personal requests. One person reads the verse or phrase, prays, others may also pray before reading the next verse/phrase. When we have 30 minutes we will spend 10 minutes praying each section below.

I. Pray thru Scripture: Luke 19:41-44

When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,

saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,

and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."

*During your daily prayers this week – the following suggestions may help intercede for our cities:

1. Pray for all of God’s people to get God’s heart for the city. As God’s people gain His broken heart for cities, particularly for the poor, their prayers will be powerful agents for change.

2. Pray with understanding for specific aspects of your city. Missionaries know that it is ineffective to enter a culture without first understanding its traditions and history. Do your homework and foster understanding in yours prayers.

3. Pray against stereotypes and misconceptions. Every city has many needs: a CEO of a corporation is as much in need of prayer for purpose in his or her life as a homeless family.

4. Pray consistently for churches and faith-based ministries in the cities. Pastors and layleaders are working tirelessly in cities to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the people in their communities. Pray for them.

II. Pastor Carl Broggi. For physical rest, relaxation, uninterrupted time with family and friends, adequate time for study and sermon preparation. Wisdom and discernment as our shepherd and as the head of his home. Power, protection & provision.

Be a church body sold out to reaching the lost in our neighborhood, city, county, State, nation and

other countries.

Be a praying church body that walks in the Spirit more and more.

For growth in our ABF (674 @Bible study hour (35%), 1612 @ worship) Let us

pray for growth of ABF to > 50% (e.g. 800).

Prayer update for Ana Marie
Filed under: Praise, Healing — Sandra Voegeli @ 2:10 pm

Praise The Lord! Ana’s surgery went well. They did remove the tonsills & adenoids and they placed ear tubes. The tonsills were “huge”, as the doctor put it… and she will be in a bit of pain for the next few days. Please pray that the Lord heal her quickly and that He give her comfort. Sorry, I cannot update her website from the hospital server… I will update here when I can. Thank you Lord for answered prayers…. Emmy Bennet

Praise for strength
Filed under: Praise — Sandra Voegeli @ 7:36 pm

For the past four years there have been a myraid of events that have happened in our  family and business (health issues,  several deaths, hurricanes,  automobile wrecks and other events that are so bazar it could be material for a  conference!  A thank you to those  believers who have encouraged us through the valleys and prayed  for us through the past few years (keep praying, because we’re still in the battle!)While we are grateful that God is both good and He is soverign, we have learned  first hand the reality of the gift  that comes from learning  things  that can come through brokeness. For those of you who find yourself in circumstances that are overwhelming (and trust me, I’m in the trenches with you) let me share part of a note a dear friend slipped under my door one night as I sheltered in her house during a time of refuge.  “I am revealing much to you. Pass it on. Each truth is a jewel. Some poor spirit, some improverished friend will be glad of it. Seek to find a  “heart home” for every truth I  have shown you. Help others and ache to find a way into each life and heart.” She signed it “Christ is pouring forth thru the broken  pieces in you life and this has strenghtened my own faith.” My encouragment to you is God is Faithful and trustworthy and He uses everything is our lives, even the painful things, for good.
 Pour forth!

Prayer update for Tricia Goodwin
Filed under: Praise — Sandra Voegeli @ 9:32 pm

‘Answered Prayer.
Thank you for Praying for Tricia Goodwin.  She is coming home from the hospital today with her baby.   Her mom will be sticking around a few weeks to help her becuase she can’t lift more than 10 pounds and is taking medicines for her pain.  We think her problems were from leaking spinal fluid and three blood patches were given.  The last one seemed to help as her headache has lessened so they could stop giving morphine.  Praise God for healing her.  Also Baby Gabriella is fine.

Please pray for healing.  Patricia “Tricia” Goodwin is in hospital in Amarillo Texas.  On Morphine for bad headaches after having a baby.  They first thought it was from fluid leaking out of her spine but 2 blood patches did not cure it.  Blood tests came back normal.  MRI results pending.  She and her husband Tony are saved they have 2 girls, Natalie 20 months and Gabriella still in hospital until mom can be discharged.  Tricia’s mother (also saved) is staying with them for a week.

Praise God for our new granddaughter Gabriella Joy Goodwin.  7pounds 12 Oz born 16 Jan 2008.
