Sunday Morning Pray-ers @ CBC May 18, 2008
Kingdom focused prayers – CBC (8:30-9:00) Room 202
(Process)– In groups of NO MORE than 8 people, pray thru Scripture. In the process of praying this passage, may this be a time of confession, adoration, thanksgiving, intercession and some personal requests. One person reads the verse or phrase, prays, others may also pray before reading the next verse/phrase. When we have 30 minutes we will spend 10 minutes praying each section below.
I. Pray thru Scripture: Luke 19:41-44
When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,
saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,
and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."
*During your daily prayers this week – the following suggestions may help intercede for our cities:
1. Pray for all of God’s people to get God’s heart for the city. As God’s people gain His broken heart for cities, particularly for the poor, their prayers will be powerful agents for change.
2. Pray with understanding for specific aspects of your city. Missionaries know that it is ineffective to enter a culture without first understanding its traditions and history. Do your homework and foster understanding in yours prayers.
3. Pray against stereotypes and misconceptions. Every city has many needs: a CEO of a corporation is as much in need of prayer for purpose in his or her life as a homeless family.
4. Pray consistently for churches and faith-based ministries in the cities. Pastors and layleaders are working tirelessly in cities to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the people in their communities. Pray for them.

I am asking all Christians to pray for my mom (Ann Gettinger). She has been suffering from a huge hernia that has pushed her stomach into her chest, Now it has become worst the stomach is pulling her intestines into her chest. It has become very dangerous for her. She no longer has an option she has to have the surgery this coming Tuesday April 8th. The Dr. said the surgery will be 3 to 4 hours long. She will be in ICU for at least 2 days or maybe more considering her condition. She will be in the hospital for 1 to 2 weeks. They are going to have to cut her ribs and go through her left side and pull her stomach back down and put everything back into place and repair the hernia and any damage they find after everything is in place. Their greatest concerns of having this surgery is anesthesia, pneumonia, lungs, and infection. Please pray that God will cover her and keep her safe from all of these things happening. She is the TRUE LOVE of my life. I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to pray and lift her up to our Lord. Ruby Gettinger

Please pray for Sean Johnson. He is 20 years old and lives in Dallas, TX. His parents were expecting him home on Friday night, March 7th and he never showed up. We have reason to believe that he is involved with people who may do him harm. Please also pray for his parents, Keith and Patti, and his sisters, Jackie and Megan, who are waiting to hear from him.
